Over the next two weeks I’m visiting lots of schools in England and Scotland to promote the new book. I’m not doing any public events at this stage, though I’ll be arranging some to follow later. But I will be popping in to the following bookstores to sign stock during week 1. Please note that the times quoted here can only be approximate!

Monday 18th October: Cambridge
12.00 noon: Waterstones, 22 Sydney Street, Cambridge, CB2 3HG
12.30 pm: Heffers, 20 Trinity Street, Cambridge CB2 1TY

Tuesday 19th October, Oxford
2.30 pm: Blackwells, 48-51 Broad Street
3.00 pm: Waterstones, William Baker House, Broad Street

Friday 22nd October, London
10.00 am: Foyles, Charing Cross Road
10.30 am: Blackwells, Charing Cross Road
11.45 am: Waterstones, Piccadilly
12.00 noon: Hatchards, Piccadilly
1.30 pm: Waterstones, High Street Kensington
2.15 pm: Harrods

I’ll also be visiting some stores in Scotland in Week 2, and will flag these up nearer the time….
BAHAHAHA HE'S COMING TO OXFORD

Lucky you. Though no classes at that time?
And, you will be meeting him the second time, right?

I saw this and screamed with joy!
The last few times he came to London I wasn't able to go, so half-term couldn't have been better placed this year! xD
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.

Monday and Tuesday are lab days, and we only get labs every other week. This is my week off.
Yes, this will be the second time. It's been a while since the first time...

Awesome. That's two members going, then, and possibly three if he comes near where Dave is up in the Icy North.

It would be nice if he mentioned Bartiforums in his talk.

So, I met him, and it was AWESOME. We have it on good authority that none other than Bartimaeus himself is a fan of the site:

Stroud is glad that those of us who've read the book so far (me, Pete, Footstool and Dave, to my knowledge?) have all loved it, and promises to keep up his recent streak of question answering. Also, I definitely heard him mention that more books was a possibility... =D

I have a feeling you added this as an afterthought. =p
ROCK ON.

There isn't details on a Canadian tour because there isn't one, most likely. Mind you, I've never seen the big draw in meeting famous people (no matter how awesome) anyway. That being said, next time he goes to Chicago (not this time, I have no money), Nero, RCB and Luciene all have to roadtrip down there with me. They have a FREE ZOO. :P

You wish. =p It was very much pre-planned, thank you.

I hope Stroud writes a book which is a sequel to PG. It would be the best thing possible!

I disagree. Ptolemy's Gate is an ending. There's no need or place for a sequel. On the other hand, there are an enormous amount of opportunities for prequels.

Ptolemy's Gate is the end of Nathaniel and Kitty's story. He could continue Bartimaeus's exploits and show how things have changed in London and the world. Would be interesting.
Or he could do it in the form of an encyclopedia.

There'd have to be some sort of kludge for how exactly Bartimaeus was getting resummoned so quickly, though. It'd be messy.

Yes. Artemis Fowl (the later books) would happen if Stroud wrote a PG sequel.

I have a lot more faith in Stroud's capabilities.
Though yeah, I get your points and what you say is possible.
And, iirc, there was talk about an encyclopedia long ago, right?
Just checked out some old posts. We all sounded so certain about the encyclopedia. I almost forgot.
