Or from the madness that comes with it.
Eeyeah...although it seems to be the spirit would already have to mad (or just really mad  ) to do to somehting like that.
Queezle was cool. i was actually a little bit surprised she didn't come back... i liked the relationship she had with Bart, considering his contempt for most of the spirits in the series. but then again, his reaction to her death was odd... just shows how detatched he's gotten over the years.

*sigh* this topic always reminds me of Queezle7. and Danskari. Ah well. yes, I was a bit disappointed too, but it wasn't like Ptolemy or Nathaniel. Better her than Bart, i say. :D

I think one (MAJOR) reason Bart was talking to Naeryani in such a friendly way, was to irritate Nat.

Sorry, was there a veiled statement there?

No. I meant what I wrote.

Maybe he was also happy to see somebody he liked in the midst of all his enemies?

Yeah. That had to be a comfort. Especially with Nouda in the background.
I still stick to my original statement - he did it to irritate nat. I wonder he would like to meet someone he likes in the weakened state he was in. And Naeryani did something he would never do - enter a human.

Would he really bo worried about annoying Nat when he's about to get judged by some super-powerful spirit and maybe killed(at least I bet Faquarl hoped so)?

Maybe he thought he was going to die and wanted to squeeze out last minute pleasures?
Nah, that's not Bart.
I woner if he had any idea Nouda was going to be so generous...

With Nouda's record? I think not.
He did a pretty good job of not being terrified though.

I think he was hoping for generosity, and when Nouda said name what you wish, he knew he had it in the bag then.

Bart's been through a lot not to seem terrified.
And yeah, Bart knows when he's got it all good.

Yep.
He'd make a good lawyer, assuming he can keep from killing the other one.
