Sentynel?! But I thought you loved me!

Besides, Nero can stand a few lewd comments. He can stand anything, can't you Nero?

You love Ottawa politics? Is it that good (its just that I have never heard people complimenting government politics ever)?
I went to a 'meet your MP' session & it was so discouraging (could be because everyone wanted the meeting to be carried out in different languages & in the end no one really seemed to have understood anything. Plus the politicians made such tall claims & gave such long speeches).
I think Nero has got it right. When young, everyone is a liberal but when they grow up they become conservatives. They worry about protecting their culture, faith, legacy...everything. I think they are afraid the younger generation would become too modern & forget their rich heritage (or whatever). But sometimes their line of thought makes sense too.

I know people who are grumpy conservatives at 18, and people who are (albeit somewhat embittered...) liberals in their 50s.

But they are always exceptions, right? But it's far more likely to get to a a old liberal than a young conservative.

To quote Nero quoting Churchil on the last page:

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

:P

Well, it's the capital, it's got a lot more politicky things going on (this is a terrible explanation...) for the most part (election time being the exception), it's where the major politicians spend most of their time during parliament etc. Or he could just be saying Ottawa is boring (IMO, Rideau Canal FTW).

In my experience their seems to be as many right wing adults as they're are left wing (could just be different over here), but their does seem to be more young liberals. Though it would make sense, the idea of what is left wing and what is right wing changes over time.

Fun fact: that's misattributed.

I know more young, grumpy conservatives than I do old liberals actually, though I get into political conversations with people my age more often than older people..

So to quote "mid-nineteenth century historian and statesman François Guizot" then?

You listened to the daily mail? Even I think that's probably not a good idea.

I did that test way back when, too lazy to do it again and post my results.
