This guy sounds like Nathaniel, in the second book. :P
hi there
It depends. Some characters (Barti, Jane) always wanted to slap him, while a lot of readers (like me) liked him through the whole book.

No, he isn't that bad.
He's my friend, we just have a few things not in common.
:P

And I liked nat in the second book. He wasn't all good and noble. Not that noble's bad or anything, just the hero thing is annoying.
I thought Nat was a bit annoying in the second book. Always sucking up for people that will help his career.
The Kitty flashbacks were the worst. I mean, they are okay now, but they used to be too long and tedious for my taste.
*shrugs* Ah well.

I know. I wanted to get on with the story and they kept on getting in the way.
Yeah, I felt that way in book 2. Thee just wasnt enough action. If the independent story line had something more going on in it, then I might have liked it, but It felt like a battle to get the information I wanted from the book. Ofcourse once the resistance started doing more things, the book got far better.
I loved all the little sub-plots in GE. There weren't really that many in PG....
hi there
i have to admit that when i first read GE i just missed most of kitty's bits. the were dull compared to nat's
I love that, after years of not using this forum, my average posts per day is 0.7
I didn't like the Kitty parts is PG either. Except when she summoned Barti.
(That's when it's just here and there's no Nat. She was fine when Nat was around.)
I hadn't really liked Nat in GE.
Still, I found the Kitty's flashback parts quite interesting.
Actually she was my favorite character... Or not, maybe I like Bartimaeus mora, but one of them is certainly the character I most liked.
I began liking Nat very much when he began to be "noble" again.
Well, I like how Nat redeemed himself. It wasn't too fast or too slow.
Kitty was cool. Just not the flashbacks.
And Luciene doesn't like her because she gets in the way of J/J. (Am I correct?) ;)

That's part of it... But also because I don't really understand her. She's impossible to manip as well. 'Cause you know how you see a pic of someone and they have the exact same emotion in their eyes that a character might have? I don't get that for Kitty. I'll never understand her.
I personally liked Kitty in PG. Especially after her journey to the Other place, I positivly disliked Nathanial, until after he gets captured, then he gets redeemed, and then who could hate him after his noble death
I liked John bad.... he was snotty, but still better than most of the other council members. And he was horribly overworked and stressed.
Well, it was also funny seeing his reaction when Jane was there. And when forced to put up with Makepeace.

I don't think he likes Makepeace much...he uses him. And the masked party was the funniest thing ever. When he thought Jane wanted to kiss him?? I was dying when I read that.
Makepeace? Oh yeah. He does. I'm talking about how annoyed he gets when he finds out he has to attend another play.
Yes, the party. That
was funny.

Annoyed??? I'd be surprised if he didn't try to shoot Makepeace or Devreaux one day
