IMAX movies are crazy awesome.

We got a Blu-Ray player a couple of weeks ago. Not all that exciting, although I get all the old DVD's that we replace.

I've had a PS3 for a long time, only had an HD TV for a few months, now own a whopping two Blu-Ray flicks.

I have a Blu-ray drive on my computer. Although my monitor isn't quite 1080p, so I have to downscale a bit. It's still stunning.

I have two (Dark Knight and Star Trek)... plus the complete series of Battlestar Galactica. Hah.

Er, like, £100? It was only about £10 more than the DVD version, soo...

(Although the Blu-ray drive cost £70...)

Yeah, the only reason we got one is that players and discs are really cheap now.

And as of couple hours ago, we have three more.

Dark Knight was the first one we bought, of course.

I watched Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland with my best friend two days ago. And it kind of disappointed me. I thought Wonderland would be more... wonderful, specially in 3D version. But I liked Helena Bonham-Carter, and I LOVED the Mad Hatter.

Oh, well.

Annnnnd today in WTF movie news:

Just when you thought that things couldn't get any more ridiculous they greenlight... THE MAGIC 8 BALL MOVIE!

*Fuzzy places head in hands*

Aba-wha-huh? Life of Pi is NOT A MAGICAL FANTASY ADVENTURE!

I'm usually pretty lenient with book adaptations, but seriously, if it won't make an interesting movie, DO NOT ADAPT IT. This is one of those books that's best left alone.

And I discovered yesterday that Alan Doyle (lead singer for Great Big Sea) is one of the Merry Men in the Robin Hood movie. Strange yet awesome.

Well, it WAS made by Disney, so it lacked the "ancient battle" gore I was hoping it would have. And the plot was predictable, but that can't be helped in a video game-movie adaption.
