I wasn't thrilled with Johnny Depp's performance, he mumbled so much and his accent was weird. But the set, the artwork and costumes were amazing. The storyline was really cliche and danny elfman let me down, but props to them for actually showing a little violence in a Disney film.

I don't think Alice in Wonderland was that great. The typical storyline. And oddly, Willy Wonka kept flashing in my mind whenever I saw Johnny Depp. I didn't like Alice.

I loved the White Queen's mannerisms though.

(THEY RAPED HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON ARGH! WHY WHY POOR HICCUP AND TOOTHLESS) It's out already?

I guess they weren't in Vegas in the book, then.
Nope they went there. The casino.

I refuse to believe Johnny Depp didn't act well :P. And nice to have you back Luciene.

Well, regarding Alice in Wond- OHNOIMPROPERGRAMMAR- *edits post*

Honestly I think it's a "turn your brain off and don't compare it to any other Burton movies/Alice adaptations and you'll be fine," sort of movie. Having talked to others about it, I think I'm the only one who didn't think of the whole movie as just 'meh.'

But a friend of mine made a good point: It looks like Tim Burton's starting to rely just on his name and image to sell movies. This is probably confirmed by the fact that his next movie is going to be an animated Adams family remake. One of the comments under the article where I read this suggested that he start doing other types of movies. They suggest he do a buddy cop movie, which could be awesome. :D

Nah Em, it's out next Friday.

RCB, exactly how big were these tubs of ice cream? So far your story fails to impress; my brother could do the same by himself. :P

Edit: Annnd continuing the trend of re-adapting books that have already been adapted...
Also mentioned are adaptations being made for Kiki's Delivery Service and Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh, which also fit into the category. Can Hollywood start making some original movies again? (or at least finally make that dang Good Omens movie that's been in development hell?) Please?

I want that film of Death: The High Cost of Living to get made.

Have you seen Tim Burton's Secret Formula?
Lolwhut Kiki's Delivery Service? The Japanese animated movie? The one my classmates mercilessly teased during art class because we thought the stalker boy was disturbing? :D

Seeing How To Train Your Dragon tomorrow, never knew of an original thing.
Liked Alice a lot. All I have to say.

Looking forward to X-Men, Iron Man, Avengers, Captain American (interesting casting - wondering if it'll pan out) and... er... that about it off the top of my head.

X-Men!? What are they doing now?

I want to see Iron Man (loved the first one), but tbh it doesn't look all that great.

How To Train Your Dragon got really good reviews. So did Hot Tub Time Machine

Didn't see it, now its probably Tuesday or something.

X-Men First Class, and Singer may be doing another one within three years or so.

Iron Man 2 for the win, soundtrack win, and Rourke win.
Heh.

I want to see Hot Tub Time Machine too...
Apologies for double, but The Last Airbender is STILL TO DAMNABLY WHITE.

*agrees* Also, too directed by M Night Shamalan. What was his last genuinely good movie?

Uh... huh. I thought the Village was alright, though I seem to be the minority there.

How To Tame Your Dragon was a sweet movie.

The new Pirates movie about the fountain of youth I fear for, mostly because it looks like fail.

No Orlando Bloom can only be a good thing. :P

But... but... Keira Knightly's hot!
Anyways, I fear for it as well, because of the story. Fountain of Youth rings of Disney direct-to-DVD crapoid to me.

So... How was How To Train Your Dragon? How was Hiccup and Toothless?

Saw Mt Everest 3D movie yesterday. (The IMAX one, but I didn't see it in a theatre. In the Science Centre). T'was awesome! All the snow tumbling towards you...
Then saw a movie on space in the Planetarium. Again, brilliant.
