Saw Harry Potter (don't tell my mom, I kinda wasn't supposed to...). I thought it was really good, actually was more accurate to the book (I think, haven't read it in forever) than the last few were.

Yeah, I do kinda wish they'd made it seem everything seem a lot more... desperate, maybe... at the beginning. And Lavender was hilarious ("I think he senses my prescence!").

Watched the Colour of Magic aswell. That was good too.

How could we...?

Unless you were talking to DC...
You think the movie stuck to the book? Well, I thought this movie was the one which least followed the storyline. Nearly all important parts were cut off (like so many of Voldemort's memories & the final battle & Bill, Tonks, Rufus etc etc). Plus, there was no sense of a disaster waiting to happen, the trio seemed more acute of the dangers in the 1st movie.

Yeah, I agree with N&B. I really didn't like Slughorn. I mean he was a fine actor and everything, but so different from the book. He wasn't short, he wasn't fat, he didn't have a WALRUS MUSTACHE. And what was with the screwing up of the climactic battle scene? And NO MORFIN. <3 Morfin *starts crooning in Parseltongue*

Yeah, they only showed 2 memories. And how are they going to bring the Cup & the Diadem later on? Whoever is directing the 7th movie has to take all that into account now. And going by the 6th movie, I think Bill & Tonks marriage isn't going to take place. Is that why they destroyed the Burrow?

Well they do have two more movies in which to do it in.

*shrug* I haven't read either in a while, but it seemed more accurate than the last movie. I agree with you on the second point though, but I those things wouldn't ruin a movie for me.

On another note, the trailer for Sherlock Holmes was right in front of the movie. I reaalllyyy want to see that one.

I'm hoping this'll be good.

Director and writer seems decent; they finally took out the bloody deer stalker hat.
Which Sherlock Holmes movie? Not the short stories, right? The Hound of Baskervilles?

I've been watching it since I heard about it, I'm a huge Downey fan.
Looking forward to it alright.
From what I've read, heard, and what little I've seen, I'm with Nero, seems like 6 stuck to as little as possible.
Phoenix kept fairly well, why it slowed down a little in film, it did the same thing in the book.

I want to watch that movie, Jude Law is Watson.

And HP was so fricken pathetic. When Dumbledore died, we marked the occasion by clapping and shouting finally. And the end was extremely anti-climatic, Ginny was so extra, and even wearing a suit for the entire movie didn't save Malfoy from looking like a pansy.
[+] Spoiler
Like honestly, he kicked Harry in the face and then covered him with the Cloak? Really? And then his big comeback was "Nice face"

And why didn't anyone try to put out the burning burrow? and why couldn't Harry just shoot the water out of his wand into Dumbly's mouth?

Sherlock Holmes movie seems nice. I hope it comes over here.

The shooting water on Harry's part could have been done in the book too. And yes, I felt Ginny seemed an extra too. We hardly got to know her character & Harry seemed to be such a flirt (it felt like that in every movie).

Sherlocke Holmes trailer was amazing, though it deviates a bit from their book characters a bit. Not that I'm complaining about the action, it looks awesome.

Because Hallows is two movies, they'll probably stick the memories in there.

Watson seems more true to the stories than the Watson's of most adaptations, who are usually completely useless.

A lot of movies coming out in the fall look pretty good, actually. Better than the movies for the first half of the year, anyhow.

Yeah, sometime in the fall.

I can't help but get this sinking feeling that my friends are going to drag me to go see it in theatres. I mean, it wouldn't kill me to see it, but I don't want to spend the 10 bucks.

You don't like the books?

They're okay I guess, they're easy to read and the author's better than Paolini at least (had to fit in a crack at him somewhere :P ), but most of the characters annoy the living hell out of me (and I place good characters really high on any criteria for a good book). I actually like the movies better than the books, but it comes down to me not wanting to spend money on the movie.

You don't seem crazy about Edward.
I happen to be crazy with people who are crazy about Edward.
