It makes up for twilight which very nearly spoiled everything to do with vampires (apart from Dracula, of course)

Recently watched The Castle for the first time in years. Hilarious movie, great lines.

Meyer has publicly admitted she didn't do the research on vampires, and just made it up as she went along.

I was referring to the film rather than the books, the books were supposed to be unconventional, they weren't great be were fine to read when they were alternative. However, that's most of what they had going for them, so their popularity wasn't helpful. Especially since in most book shops I can't find a book that isn't about dragons or vampires >.>
I recently read a book which looked to be promising, turned out to be about vampires, and had a terrible ending.
