One actually, although it has to be a pretty strong magician and a fairly weak(if you can call them weak)marid.

If 'this' means a Ramuthra, then that proves they are way stronger then marids.

I asked in the Jonathan Stroud questions that when a marid is summoned by two people, and one magician dies, what would happen? Would the marid still be there or will the willpower of the last remaining tie the marid to earth?
Good question. I think the marid might possibly escape but again you can't say. He's already summoned so he might have to remain bound in the pentacle. Mightbe only the summoning of the marid requires 2 magicians not the controlling. As I said, good question.

marid are summoned tons of times. 2 notable ones are.. remember whitwell destroyed one with a vortex. and also there was atlas, who was a marid who had to build the parthenon. messed up, and had to hold it up..
I retracted my wing briefly, held the boy so he had a quick view of the square.
"Take a look," I said. "Which house do you think has the thinnest walls?"

For a moment, he was uncomprehending. Then his eyes widened. "You're
not---"

"That one? With the pink shutters? Yes, maybe you're right. Well, let's see..."

Atlas was in Ancient Greece.
You're Whitewell comment simply wrong.
Her 'bear' is a Djinni, as seen in GE.
I believe you meant to say that she destroyed one.
If not, then I did you're thinking for you.
Congratulations.

No, he meant in PG when Whitewell summoned an afrit while a captive of Nouda. It was still the same bear, but I think it was a typo that it was an afrit.
It was an afrit.

IT was Djinni.
It's referenced many times in GE that it is.
The afrit mentioning in PG is the typo.

Umm, he was summoning a an Afrit when he mispronounced a verse.
He read straight from a sabotaged book, and the four-armed afrit killed him.
Rather stylishly, too.
He might have done a Marid, but I seriously doubt he could keep it around for long.
Constant strain, and all that.
