Bartimaeus.

Can't Whitwell summon up afrits, though?
Okay, throw in an afrit.

Bartimaeus dies.

Which he would. Or blast a hole in the ceiling to escape. All the rumble would come crashing down on the afrit.

Would only slow it down.

But still that gives enough time for Bart to run away.

Probably he could, since he has practiced running a lot. :D
Hmm...I've noticed how cynical you've become Dansariki....
Isn't he always like that? I seldom miss Post these days...

Bart would only run away if he couldn;t outsmart them in a cunning fight of wits and nicely placed detonations from behind some pillars. If that didn't work, than he would run away.

Yes....He's kind of an expert at running and hiding...
It's a shame we never got to see a proper one-on-one confrontation between two magicians (discounting the brief scuffle between Lovelace and Underwood)

I'm not quite sure how it would work though. would they call on their spirits one by one like pokemon? :pokehimon: Or would they just go all off on eachother in a frenzied clash of will and power?

Well, however it would work, Whitwell would OWN Mandrake!! The woman can summon inferno's with her bare hands for crying out loud!! AND she gave Nouda a run for his money, which is more than Natty could have done without the staff. Whitwell was awesome, and she went out in style!

Summon everything they can get their hands on as quickly as possible and stand well back. The political system is designed to avoid armed confrontations like this, however.

Got to be Whitwell. She defeated a Czech marid single-handedly. Not even the passel of djinn Mandrake had access to in Ptolemy's Gate could stand up to her and Shubit.

I think Whitwell would win. She is more powerful (and scary lol) than Nat

I don't know if I'd call her "scary." She's certainly stern and ruthless, but not to a frightening level. (Though I suppose it would be different if you were her subordinate :o )

I think that Whitwell would win by a landslide   . I hate to admit it :gladstone: , but she is much more powerful than Nathaniel. She has an afrit(at least one),Shubit, as opposed to nathaniel's djinni :djinni: . And even if Nathaniel somehow managed to defeat her in a clash of demons, she can still use detonations and such without otherworldly assistance. :ninja2:
Perhaps if Nathaniel had lived, he would be capable of one day surpassing her power.
But i think Nauda deserves a :cookie: for killing her

Um, no magician can do magic without the help of a demon. Those Detonations and things you refer to were probably just created by an invisible djinni standing by.

Maybe not. In his prime, Bartimaeus killed an afrit (from luck) while fencing with it on a sinking ship with chunks of the mast. He skewered it in the skull (if I'm not mistaken) and watched it sink to the depths, with a good rest, who's to say he couldn't do the same. :pac:
