The Grateful Dead played a concert in support of Obama. This amuses me greatly.

I think you/whatever trash you're watching got a bit confused, Nero. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7534662.stm The McCain campaign published an advert comparing Obama to shallow celebrities Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, but it doesn't say they endorse McCain.

Maybe not endorse, but the show did say apparently they do at least support him.
Though after that advert, i don't think they would continue to support him if they ever did. :P
I endorse Barama!

Haven't really paid much attention to the American elections (I've got too much else going on). Though I'm a liberal at heart, I think either one could do a good job (atleast better than the last president, who's name I shall not repeat)

McCain, Obama to get the comic book treatment

But this is pretty cool.

You are kidding, right? McCain has all the same awful policies as Bush, with the added bonus of being old and completely out-of-touch! He's only getting anywhere because people delude themselves into believing it was Bush rather than the policies that were at fault and because he milks the POW thing for all it's worth.

As I said before I don't know very much about the election but it seems to me that an older president would be more experienced plus John McCain isn't there because he is the son of a former president, but he was chosen to be the best Republican candidate.

And from the little I've heard, his policies aren't completely the same. While I agree more with Obama's policies, I'm just happy Bush is leaving.

I agree with Fuzzy. But I also agree with Sent. We don't need another Bush in office, and that's exactly what McCain is, even if his policies are a little different. We need a democrat back in office!

Age doesn't necessarily mean any more relevant experience. John McCain is only the best Republican candidate because the others in the race were all awful... His policies are different on the surface but the underlying policies which cause the real problems - Republican economic theory, for example - are exactly the same.

For the record, I disagree completely with Obama's political standpoint too, but he's a change in the right direction for America.

To be honest, I only like McCain's experience in war that should lead America out of

Afghanistan and Iraq while actually trying to create peace in the said Third World countries.

Obama is just saying to pull them out right away so that he can get more support; it's not that simple.
Everyone knows it's not that simple, but it's what everyone wants.

McCain'll end up dying in office before he actually gets anything done >.<

Not true at all. McCain wants to stay in Iraq indefinitely, Obama wants to have left in a few years. McCain's experience in actually managing a war from the highest levels is questionable at best.

I suppose so.

I remember a quote saying the McCain will stay in Iraq for 100 years if it was necessary.
But then he would have died before carrying that out, thank you Anuk.

And no, not everyone knows it's not that simple. One group are the grievers, the mothers of dead American soldiers. Can't blame them. Even they still are sensible to know it's not that simple

Threads drift off topic. It happens. It's allowed here; it is the off topic forum after all.
