McCain was in a war. (And greatly exaggerated his part in it for votes, naturally.) Wow. That makes him so suitable to run a country, doesn't it! So many relevant skills he'll have picked up shooting at people!
Hardly ironic there's a McCain ad, Nero. The google ads are served based on the content on the pages they're served on. Mention McCain, it gives you McCain ads...

You want to vote for the Conservatives because you think they're funny. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY. Oh, and being taken in by his "policies" - that is, say to everyone what you think will appeal to them in particular and hope nobody notices you're saying completely different things to different people (for the most part, sadly, this works).

oh get over yourself. there is very little difference between the parties these days and even if you do vote for one with good policies they will most likely go back on them once they come to power. so i might as well like one because i think they are funny, and boris johnson has nice hair (although i would have kept Ken Livingstone as the mayor of london. boris was better when he couldnt mess anything important up).

The reason the parties are all the same is because nobody cares enough to try and make a difference. If people complained loudly about the general crapness of the politics available something might get done, but instead people are apathetic enough to vote for one crap party or another for no real reason or because they didn't like the last one much and then grumble a bit in t' pub later and so the cycle continues. It's pathetic.

I still think it's ironic.....
*grumbles*

But yes, most politicians are like that. Most. An actual politician with regard for their country is ....one in five thousand. Like Washington, a patriot. Like Gladstone (that's what I hear). And Lester B. Pearson, the creator of the term peacekeeping.

Well yes, the radical parties are all loonies. We need a party with policies that are different but not completely bonkers.

Hmm...if a politician won the top seat because he was funny....well that's just chaotic.

...because everyone sits around apathetically, votes for a rubbish party, and grumbles a bit when they turn out to indeed be crap, rather than actually doing something about it!

Yeah, trying to convince people to get off their asses and do something... not being voting age yet, that's about all I can do.

you cant do anything directly once you are of voting age (other than vote, but thats not really going to make a huge difference to party policies). well, you can but seeing as we are all apathetic lazy people it probably wont work.
