They fused tomato & potato to combine all the desired characteristics of the 2. But that did'nt work & the little benefits it had did not compensate the cost of production. So they have abandoned that for the time being or are trying something new, I dunno which. Once the hybrid's nutritive value increases or the plant turns out to be more resistant to diseases, they might produce it for commercial needs.

Making stuff glow in the dark is actually very common - it's pretty easy to splice in a bit of jellyfish or something's DNA which causes things to glow. It's often used as a check to see if some other added DNA is working - add the other DNA plus glow in the dark DNA, and if the right bit glows, the rest of the DNA should be working too.

Hey, do you think that someone would ever be genetically engineered to have glowing hair? That would look cool.

That could be quite complicated.. hair isn't actually alive, so there'd be no easy way of providing energy to the glowing cells so they could keep glowing.. you could create hair that, say, glows under UV light, but actually making it glow itself would be tricky.

I'm sure you could work out the physical properties needed.

Edit: and also, my biggest pet peeve about zetaboards, is that my sigs and avatars probably clash so horrible with purple theme. why couldn't they both be softer, less clashy colours? why?

Go for the orange theme and then your avatar is lovely :P
