Yep. Even if your argument were to suck.

I give up. I will no longer be arguing on this topic.

I resign with the position that the djinni known as Bartimaeus would be victorious in a combat scenario involving the magician Nathaniel, a mercanery, and a footstool.

I'm with ya on the weapons/ingenuity thing, but no doubt Sent would come along and say something.
I decided to precede him.
If you meant resilience, why mention animals?
And we've both said he just needs to beat the crap outta him.
And to Apollo, you've said something to that effect before :P

When I mentioned the "turning into deadly animals" thing it was just an idea to think about and factor in. And Nero, what the hell? Why does my argument suck?

Wow, I can't really be bothered to read all the above(big) posts. But yeah, Nero raised a good point. Where does the battle take place? Whoever started this post ought to answer that.

No no no no. I didn't meant to mean that your argument sucks. I meant to say that if you are in a debate, and if your argument sucks, debating is still fun.

Oh, okay. Sorry.

Well, where they're fighting doesn't really matter, since, to talk about where they are, we'd have to cover every possible situation, since we don't know for sure.

As I said before, there may very well be too many variables for us to determine a definite winner. My money's still on Barty, though.

No, I think we've pretty much explored every possibilty on this one, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Exactly! But why does no one support Nat? He has a good chance too.

No! I mean yes, saying we will agree to disagree is giving up, but we won't give up.

Umm, did you say you support Nathaniel? No weapons means no summoning - he's usless.

Summoning isn't a weapon, though, any more than a djinni's detonation or the mercenary's fist is. It's an innate ability.

Summoning a spirit to your side to do your bidding (as I think we all assumed from the very begginning) is out of the question, that would just introduce another contestant. If that contestant won the fight, it would not be Nathaniel's victory, would it?

But the summoned spirit would be working for Nathaniel.. (Not that this would necessarily help Nathaniel much; by the time he'd summoned anything Barti would probably have landed a detonation in his face..)
