Nat wasn't as corrupt as a child. He didn't consciously try to do evil. But I guess it could go both ways

It probably did go both ways...He influenced her, and she influenced him.

Come on guys. You can't say nathaniel is your favorite character. In books 2 and 3, he's a total jerk!

He went on a suicide mission to save the world. I think that's non-jerk behaviour

I meant in the beggining of book 3. Come on, he made up all these things about how the war was going.

I assumed all that was just part of the standard political job description and didn't judge him morally on that.

Well, i suppose so, but he could at least done something about it.

And then either be fired or pounced upon by his colleagues and Deveraux?

And please. All wars use propaganda. In WW2, the Japanese were drawn as tiny, yellow evil imps with bad teeth in children's comics, for God's sake.

I had to vote for Bartimeus, since he has chatted with Solomon and built the walls of Prague and all... I am surprised that Nathaniel got that many votes. By the way, the part with the footstool was pretty funny . :lol2:

The scene in the second book, where the magicians summon dozens of spirits, including an afrit that eats Tallow, Barti remarks that the spirit in the end pentacle's incarnation of a footstool is good, and Nat tells him that pentacle is empty, and that is a footstool.

As does everyone. But there are STILL debates over whether Nat or Ptol is better.

Nat is better.

Especially as a character. People, whether they liked him or not, could connect with him better. And well, we did get to know him better....
