I said that thinkin maximum...i dont think there should be a minimum, but if there is a maximum, it keeps the entries more managable I find.

Themes sound fine, easier to compare each of them I guess, but perhaps its too constrictive.....?

It should be upto the author, chapters can be as long or as short as you want them to be, and they are useful devices to show change or time or location. As for the oraganisation, I think one theme or stimulus should be given and everyone can write around that. If different categories are chosen its a but unbalanced, there arnt enough people. There could be a situation were one person enters for one categroy and everyone else enters for another, and thats hardly fair play.

But there must be a limited number of genres you could write it in....

Why should we write in a specific genre? I find a mixture (comedy/action, anybody? - offers popcorn and pokeballs to all. -) to be a good thing. And I like a 2,000 word limit more, give more of room to be loose like a goose in June, dig? The author thing is a good note, I should throw in a random poem that interrupts the middle confessing my love for Stroud, and then continue onto the story. My subtle sabotage will achieve Greatness yet!

Side genres are fine, I just think we should have on overall genre per contest though.

I want to read the random peom about your love life. Although I'm sure I'll be very disturbed by the end.
