Other place, you meant. Yes Barti started truly liking Kitty after she went to the other place. And Barti truly only started liking Nathaniel probably sometime in his body. (He got insight to Nat's thoughts and realized Nat wasn't that bad of a guy.)

Actually, no. Bart liked Nat after Nat killed himself.

There was no after. He was dismissed a few seconds before death.

The liking had to develop obviously.

The last paragraph, Bart express his er, like and respect of Nat. Nowhere else.

Then why did he save Nat several times?

When when and when, exactly? They sort of needed each other.

And Nouda? I think it was for Kitty's altruism.

Barti convinced Kitty to save Nat in GE, although it would mean that he wouldn't be freed.

I guess they developed a bond because he knew Nat's birthname.

AOS-Underwood fire...he was kind of bound to him, but he did it anyway. When they were in the library Bart said that Nathaniel reminded him of Ptolemy.

PG-Refused to reveal his birthname

Nat probably reminded him of Ptolemy, only because he was young. He probably the only child to summon him since Ptolemy. I don't think he was that noble.

That one fairheaded kid that summoned him was mentioned in PG...

And it was because he had a consinece.

Can't spell, I know.

That brings up a question: How do spirits come into existence?

Unless that was addressed in one of the books, and I just can't remember. Hmm.
There's no room here for the besterest quote evers, so I'll just leave this blank.

I always thought they were there from the beginning. Like they were a swirling mass, and when they're given names, and separated, they get their class and skill level.

Agreed.

He had conscience, mostly in AoS, but in GE he was "bad", and then in PG he redeems himself...
Oh, and Bart spared Kitty's and Nat's lifes when Nouda gave him some wishes, he wanted to be released and wanted them not to be killed... And this was before Kitty wnt to the Other Place.
I believe the spirits are part of the Other Place, and when they are summoned, part of the Other Place comes to our world, and then his power is defined...(is defined correct?)
When a spirit dies, his energy goes back to the Other Place, but its memories and psychological characteristics dissapear.

I was kinda shocked at the end of PG...i was reading then turned the page and there was no more. I really wish Nat would have lived but he died doing a good thing..I also hoped that Kitty and him would get together but she got left behind to do his job i suppose. To bad there isn't going to be another book..Bartimaeus sounded really awesome..would he have died if he had stayed with Nat? :magic:

"It's two thousand, one hundred and twenty-nine years since Ptolemy died," he said. "He was fourteen. Eight world empires have risen up and fallen away since that day, and I still carry his face. Who do you think's the lucky one?"-Bartimaeus
I thought the ending was really good, considering it shocked me and it still made sense. :djinni:
At least Barti survived...
If you would like to be a part of my Bartamaeus Trilogy Family, Please PM me!

It could had a normal ending, but then I think I would put it aside, and it would be just a great book. But, I almost stoped breathing after that, and I didn't talk next day in school...(Or not, but mostly it's true)
And I also hoped Nat and Kitty would stay together... I think it woul be better if Kitty and Nat died together... Kinda selfish...
