Jokes (sarcasm is good for your health -_- ).

I can sometimes have a hard time imagining fight scenes.

You don't need to imagine them. Just see whether you find the fighting scenes written in the book more interesting then the jokes.

"I like quoting Einstein. Know why? Because nobody dares contradict you." - Studs Terkel.

The jokes are still better...

I loved the scene in which Nat (after summoning Bart after his encounter with Kitty) shouts & screams at Bart as he had refused to tell who summoned him. Nat throws something at Bart & Bart screams 'hey, here. I am the other way round' & when he stated that they both missed their targets by miles, I burst into laughters.

Is this just the first book or the whole trilogy?

When Barimaeus was in the tower. It was very interesting. What with the uttuku, Whitwell, Pinn and Farquarl, etc, ect.

I liked his description Pinn and his (Bart's) rilin up of the Uttuku particulary.

i'd say the worst part was at the beginning when bart snuck into lovelace's house (it made me drop the book ike 20 times). :pirate1:

i dont kno....it seemed too elaborate for the begin of the series and i was REALLY confused about the changing forms, the seven planes, etc....

Hmmm. Yes, it takes a while to grasp all the different aspects of Bartimaeus's world, but drop the book? Are you serious?
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

Something symbolic in that. It's what fake freedom does for you.
well, not literally...... i got really bored of that section and put the book down for good until my friend re-recommended it to me....
