The third is good. Certainly better than the somewhat average second.

I liked the third best, although then the first and second were tied. I loved the second - the introduction of Kitty and Honorius got me through the duller parts, and really in many aspects it was better than the first, althought the first was better than it in some aspects. I thought the third was a nice blend, capturing the best elements of each.

Honorius was great, but otherwise book two could be rather uninspiring.
