AoS: THE Perfect Christmas Present

Amulet Of Samarkand
Nectanebo Foliot
It is, really, at least if you give it to people who actually read, regularly.

I gave two copies out this Chrissie, however it could have been more if not for my already forcing this series on a number pf people.

Anyone gifting Barty and his footnote-y goodness this holiday season?
Or have I given anone ideas? (maybe not on Christmas Eve, come to think)

(Oh yeah, comeback btw, no-one remembers me I bet. Checked to see if the Forum was still going, whaddaya know, going surprisingly strong for a forum based on a book series that finished, what, 4 years ago with the new year? Congratz people.)

I remember you. Sort of.

It would make a great present, I may be giving a copy to a friend.

Hey, I remember you. :welcome: back.
Forum will go on for eternity. We never get bored discussing the same thing again & again(check out Queezle topic).
Stay long this time around. Barty books are way out of my budget...maybe I would gift them to someone on their birthday.

I remember you, but only just.
I've taken by share of breaks too.
And I'm broke as well, but it does make a nice present, I've let people borrow it.

We really should get more people into these books. I stumbled upon them by sheer chance in a book store, if it wasn't for the interesting covers I wouldn't have picked them up. Well, I got hooked and I'm sure anyone else would be too, within the first chapter. These books could have a bigger following than they do, I think. The only person I've influenced is my Dad, who is now a fan.
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

I have got about 6 people to read the books & they in turn, influenced a few. It was my cousin who first introduced me to the books, but I had heard of it before. Crossword (a bookshop) had sent in a post to all its members telling them to buy the book. They set an offer. Buy the book & if you don't like it, return it within 15 days & you would be fully refunded.

I was given AoS as a Christmas present a couple of years ago....I hadn't ever heard of it or anything ... I just read it and instantly fell in love with it... :P

I have managed to make 4 people fans ... My brother and 3 friends... :)

Well, its crucial for the movies to release to get in more fans. And if, by any chance, the movie turns out to be a disaster, we are doomed forever!

We'll always have the books, no matter how bad the movie may turn out to be. They can't taint the brilliance of the Bartimaeus Trilogy.

Hollywood has been known to do such things.

If the movie sucks we can just act like it never happened.

Exactly. See, for example, the three Star Wars films, or the one Matrix film.

??? I liked those movies. And they weren't based on books (to my knowledge).

Which Matrix film did you think of as a disaster?

No no, there was only one Matrix film. Then there were two poor knockoffs.

What?! I liked all 3! That's definately a disputable claim. I'm talking about forgetting about movies which EVERYONE disliked.
