I still say I like HP better. Don't ask me why. Maybe cause I enjoy reading it more & it involves many characters, each unique in their own way. Anyway, it has more of a mystery element then PG does. I knew rightaway from book 2 that Quentin Makepeice was one fishy character. So no surprise element out there. Also, Nat & Bart coming to more friendly terms & Nat liking Kitty was all envisaged in Aos itself. I think mainly readers liked PG so very much because Nat died. It sure was different & exceptional way to end a series. However, the Harry Potter series has a lot more depth & magic (not
literal magic). It touched a lot more aspects. For eg:- The BT books taught us predominantly only one thing, i.e treat all equally, be it demons or commoners. HP not only touched that but loads other. Also, I enjoy reading HP again & again, something which I am surely unable to do with the BT books. Esp the first 2.
Hey, don't get me wrong, I love BT too.Otherwise I would'nt be here, typing away like a fool. It's completely original & Jonathan Stroud displays a very good sense of humour (through Bartimaeus of course).
In the end, I guess it's one's perspective that matters.
