Or, you were thinking of another country entirely.
I say night I'm living in the forest of my dream,
I know the night is not as it would seem,
I must believe in something,
So I'll make myself believe it,
That this night will never go.

:mouth: Oh, Canada...
I was told this from my stepfather who vistied there a while back...Maybe a litle too far back to be relevant anymore...

"If you take [a copy of] the Christian Bible and put it out in the wind and the rain, soon the paper on which the words are printed will disintegrate and the words will be gone. Our bible IS the wind and the rain." Herbalist Carol McGrath as told to her by a Native-American woman.

Are you kidding me? American media is the prime reason for the Sexism debate in most countries, Creates contrasts Bargirls and Hijabs, Mullah vs High school Teacher. Either Something gives or everything blows.

Do you not understand how far not offending people has gone, its political correctness gone mad, like no longer can Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs be called that, it has to be Snow White and the Seven Gnomes, so as not to cause offence to dwarfs.

Fine don't be rude to people but don't look for ways in which they might have been rude to you in some way.

Oh I meant sexual repression...wrong word. Because media is so powerful, right? And was mainly talking about Westernized countries, in response to AnukSuNamon

N' Pluto is not a dwarf planet, it's a little person planet. =]

I know, it's getting rediculous.

We call it "victimization" not "bullying" because bullies are victims too.

And I am no longer "white" I am caucasian.

Meh. Lots of things like that are being changed. People are trying to change the words in the American Pledge of Alliegance(sp?), and people are trying to change the way the begining of court works. For example: "Do you swear to tell the truth(etc...) so help you God?" is a candidate for change(or has it already been changed?).
Of course, so people need to learn to put up with it. There's this kid who goes to my Catholic school. His parents are non-religious(trying not to label). They're petitioning to make it an non-Catholic private school, and get the church knocked down. My argument: Don't blatantly send your son to a religious school if your non-religious!

Quality of Education does come before those things. But, yes, those causes are hopeless.

As is Laura Mallory's.

The woman got her appeal to remove Harry Potter books revoked for the fourth or fifth time today.

Unbelievable.

She could be using all that time and effort for a worth-while cause.

And if I might point out, the whole "magic is evil" stems from a feud with the church and the wiccans/pagans that happened centuries ago. So, if you want to be techinical, she's saying another religion is evil.

Well, yes. And I honestly don't believe in magic...especially not the kind in Harry Potter.

Who does?

And the form of "magic" that pagans/wiccans practice is a religious excercise.

I honestly wonder sometimes why I believe in God, I'm so skeptical of the supernatural and things like alien UFOs.

I just think "if there is a God, or isn't a God, if I want something done or changed, I can't just sit around. I have to go do it." That's my philosephy, anyway.

Pagans, technically; Wicca is a new religion which is based on some elements of Paganism.

I have a long and complicated philosphy on all subjects of life. Of course, the philosphy is backed up by facts, well all of the ones I can think of, anyway.

Meh, if you want to see how people can delude themselves See: scientologoy. The thing is a Religion with millions of followers. Xenu.

It was invented by a sci-fi writer, right?

My friend is a Scientologist so I don't bring up that subject.

True.

If I'm correct, than man who "invented" scientology actually said that he could make more money with a religion than with anything else.

One of the reasons I love Ultima VII so much is it satirizes Scientology. It's so funny.
Scientology is a huge and highly profitable scam. Wish I'd come up with it really...
