Tip of the Day: Try colluding with the dead. The dead may have a lower probability of getting the wolf but if you have no real suspicions, their guess is just as good as yours. If a significant number of people cooperate with the dead, the commoner vote will be less scattered and more effective as a whole.

If you're a wolf, allying yourself with the dead early one and influencing their vote will prove useful in future rounds when the commoner population dwindles. However, you must be subtle since the dead have no reason to lie to the commoners and will out you if you are wrong repeatedly.

Oh it's a boardgame old people play to freak each other out. Everyone puts a hand on the wooden thing and someone (but you don't know who) pushes the thing around the board to spell words... like "you're fat" or "I'm the ghost of a murdered priest" etc. etc.
