You need a screen of a certain size for it to be any use as a touchscreen, especially one you're supposed to use with your fingers. Typing on the screen's hard and clumsy enough as it is; can you imagine trying with an even smaller screen? Not happening.

another screen that slides out of the bottom that can do all the touch stuff.

edit: nintendo ds screens are tiny and they work.

All there needs to be is a HTC Diamond phone with a slide out keyboard and that would be perfect :P

The Nintendo DS touchscreen is 3" and designed to be used with a stylus. The full-size iPhone's touchscreen is 3.5" and designed to be used with your fingers.

Of course it does. It's just easier with a stylus because the point of a stylus is a lot smaller than the end of your finger, so you can get away with a smaller screen and still be able to press stuff accurately. That's not the point and you know it.
