Indeed, I don't disagree with the way we use animals, but I do find it interesting that nobody can actually justify
why we should be able to, other than that we can and have been for a long time. Statements like "humans are meant to have dominion over plants and animals" are nonsense; meant by whom? Us? Maybe that cow thinks it's meant to have dominion over us.
The point of Animal Farm is that the pigs take over with the ideals of a perfect happy farm where nobody actually does any work. They then proceed to fail to achieve that utopia. It's not saying that animals working is a bad thing, it's saying that it's a bad thing given what they'd set out to achieve, whether or not their target was the 'right' thing, and it's not what they were aiming for - and indeed they go right back to where they started from in the end.
