Usually (with a few exceptions) I'm not really in for high-concept fantasy; I like stuff that's grounded more in the real world like Bartimaeus, but the writing style is intriguing and there's some great world building, although I wish there was more focus on political intrigue and less on gods.

There's been at least two jaw-dropping plot twists already though, which is wonderful.
Yeah, I feel you on the "high-concept fantasy" thing.

I'll definitely look into it then, thanks!

The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing and The Fault in Our Stars.
The latter was the type that I would hardly touch- romance is not my thing- but I decided to check it out when a good friend recommended it, and the book was surprisingly insightful, not only gushy, hopeless teenage love. One may even say that it possesses Shakespearean complexity.

Hell, *I* liked TFioS.

Can't read realistic books about teenagers, sawry. That and no one will shut up about John Green and I am a spiteful person.

Octavian Nothing was fantastic.

Reading nothing at the moment, but a have a whole ton of new graphic novels I'm going to binge on tonight. I love having a job.

I just got to the post-end of TFioS.
I like what happens to him and how he broke down; it makes the novel more realistic rather than strong-protagonist- happily-ever-after rubbish.

Halfway through the prologue of Cucumber Quest and I have to say it is lovely. I think there is a grand total of 2 webcomics of the ones I read that I'm fully caught up on, but I'm going to try.
