The vast majority of people vote for the politicians the media they grew up reading tells them to.

... The last half of that sentence is so convoluted it seems to have come from here.

It makes perfect sense thank you very much.
And honestly, you think that's bad.. I've found myself writing paragraph-long sentences without even realising it before.

Combined with your tendency to end a sentence with two periods or no period at all, that makes for one heck of an essay.
"Give me back my face!" "Look at that sunset. Like blood and melted cheese."

I don't know about that. Newspapers & magazines are usually less partisan than the televisions. They don't really give their opinion & if they do, they include a counter-argument. Otherwise, they are rebuffed by the readers whose main agenda is always to contradict the writer.

I agree with you, but with a warning- don't underestimate subliminal messages.

Maybe your newspapers are better than ours, but almost all of our newspapers are biased one way or another - and the most popular (the tabloids) are the most ravingly biased of all.

Honorius: What do you mean no period at all? I always finish my se

Se = selenium.

You always finish your selenium?
"Give me back my face!" "Look at that sunset. Like blood and melted cheese."
I think se here means 'without'.

No no, it was a joke. =p "I always finish my sentences." Only I didn't.

I knew that. I was just trying to extend the joke by feigning ignorance.

But now that I explained it, it's no longer a joke.

Not our newspapers thankfully.

The comic sections in the newspapers are usually more informative than the actual newspaper.

When I read the newpaper, I ignore, as best I can, all the politics involved.

I must say though, I'm seriously pissed at Gates - cutting the Raptor, Laser funding?
Not cool. 187 Raptors, while awesome, does constitute an appropriate Air Superiority-role air force.
Damnit, we call for total control of the battlefield, what happens when we hit a big one, and we're out of 22's and haven't built enough 35's?
I like the F-16 and F-18 Super Hornets, but come on - they're old.
Grr.
And the same month as Korea tests a "rocket" he wants to cut defense spendings.
Grr2.
Damnit, America makes up 45% of the world's defense budget, I'd like to keep it that way.

There's an entire category of it. Half of it is comprised of American projects.

Last time I checked, the US had no need for more aircraft. Second: That fact is creepy.

A handful of Raptors can slaughter their way through vast numbers of enemies - 12 F-22s took out 108 enemies with no losses in one training exercise!

You don't seriously think North Korea poses a threat that higher defence spending could counter, do you? Worst case scenario, they get a working nuke and launch platform. Your military is almost entirely useless. Realistic scenario, they have a conventional army using outdated equipment; you can slaughter your way through them with few losses. Defence spending unnecessary. 45% of the world's military budget on one nation is frankly obscene. (And yes, I know we aren't much better.)

Is the F-22 the latest fifth generation jet fighters, or is there a more recent one that is in the planning stages, or already in service?

Never mind.

I know Raptors are that good, just the thought of 300 sounds better.
Waah.
