Yeah, I didn't start workin till school started, so same deal here.

With me it's my whole family. My mom lost her job (or quit, technically) about a year ago and shows no desire to get one, despite my dad having to work about 15 hours a day. I can't get a job atleast 'till the end of January.

Why can't you get a job till January?

I have Geography, English (not so bad) and Math and French (really bad). I also have to take my Grade 7 piano exam at the same time as all my other exams PLUS the piano theory in December. I don't have time for a job on top of that especially here where there seems to be no laws protecting working teenagers (most of the ones I know with jobs have to work past midnight on a regular basis).

Meh, apparently the state had a bit of a mess up with some other fat guy who was put to death. Couldn't find the vein, or something.

Yeah, it happens. If they have to execute people I don't know why they don't just go for a quick bullet to the head.. by far the fastest and most reliable way of killing people. (I'm completely against the death penalty, by the way, but the lethal injection is a mindbogglingly rubbish way of doing it.)

I mean, in all likelihood they aren't gonna get released, so why should they be kept in prison at the expense of the tax payer?

Incidentally, keeping someone on death row and then killing them is generally more expensive than imprisoning them for the rest of their life. A function of the amount of time spent living on death row and the appeals they get.

*seconds* but only if there is no doubt that they did it (yes, i do know that this will never happen blah blah blah) or if they go 'i did it'

Personally I think the death penalty is either too much or too little for criminals. Like Sent said, why hand out death so quickly? And most serial killers/ other nutter murderers have had abuse in the past. There is no such thing as a born nutter. Just some people are easier to push.

Though a shot to the head is a bit messy Sentynel. Most people want nice, clean bodies to bury. And apparently lethal injection is not as barbaric as killing assassination style. Not that there's any difference in how you kill someone.

Surely if you order someone to death because they have murdered then you are as bad as they are. A life for a life as it were. Much like the idea of of an eye for eye means we would all be blind.
