WWII was the best kind of shooter!

In my opinion.

Besides, this time it's the Pacific, not Europe and Africa, as CoD 1, 2, and 3 were.

Medal of Honour did the Pacific one game. Never really been a fan of either series though.

There are one or two WW1 flight sims I believe; not sure about any on the ground. Doesn't exactly make very interesting game material..

Well, WWI and earlier wars just weren't as exciting, from the video game standpoint.

I'll change what I said earlier:
WWI and earlier wars weren't as exciting from our POV for First Person Shooters.
RTS's do perfectly fine without WWII+ war.

Which is a pity, as DragonForce are a really poor example of power metal for most people to base their opinions on... I'd argue Nightwish are more mainstream, actually, and they're sorta power metal..
