I loved them when I was younger. My wat was more about you being all "oh they're not that good, they're childish" well...they're children's books. They're not even that childish anyway.
sentynel is gay
I recently read the Narnia series to my boys. (12,13) They are good books and I don't find them childish. They are just as good as I remember when I read them as a child.

Narnia's OK. well, actually, its a lot better than some of the other books I have read. So it deserves to be on the list. Just not number 1.

No offense to Eoin Colfer and all those fans, but I despised Artemis Fowl. I only got through the first book and half of the second until i realized i couldn't read it anymore. Who put it on the list? (no offense to whoever likes it.)

See, what i despised was Artemis's logic. Of all the ways a teenage mastermind could earn money, why through fairies?

Well I AM a little too late... but I would have recommended The Moira trilogy by Henri Loevenbruck but I don't think those books were translated into English... Can't find them anywhere... What a shame - such great books! Maybe a little violent but overall - astounding. One of my favorite series of books I've ever read.
I'm a great fan of Sherlock Holmes and I was surprised I didn't find it in the list.. And I would also want to suggest the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix! :D Also stardust and good omens, both by Neil Gaiman. :D I'm glad Gaiman's Sandman made it to your list. Oh and Diane Setterfield's The thirteenth tale! Sorry for being too eager. :X :X :X

We didn't have Holmes on there? The shame!

(Technically, Good Omens is by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.)

Yep. Not a mention. Not even a single case..
Sorry for the mistake, yes you're right, it's by Neil Gaiman and terry pratchett. :D
O_o. We really did not have Sherlock Holmes? This is quite unforgivable.
Since we are having comics like Sandman, what about Calvin and Hobbes?
And Tintin.

Yes, I re-checked just to make sure that I didn't just overlook it. Not there.
And to think Agatha Christie made it to the list! Holmes is way way better than her. Well, in my opinion. Which is rather a very biased one, since I haven't read any Agatha Christie novel yet. :X
