Er.
GAH. I hate waiting. I want to know if it opens up a new trilogy, or even the possibility of further books. If I get PM'd I'll keep it quiet -nudge- -nudge-

I didn't even know there was going to be another book. Awesome!
I do like the cover art; the Phoenix is one of the most beautiful mythical creatures in nonexistence, but unlike a lot of other beautiful mythical creatures it isn't completely useless in a fight - it can still set fire to you, no matter how hard you punch it.

Might want to look at the more recent cover we have, Lilith (welcome back btw)

;)

But, to your post, I totally agree on all counts about the phoenix, although I'll add in such things as "badass" and "awesome" as well. :D
'tis ma fave animal. Er. Fictional one, at least.

As far as I know, that's the UK publisher's cover only, in which case the US one is likely to still be the phoenix, so Dansariki gets the phoenix even if us Brits don't.

Mind you, I think the UK cover is stunning, to the extent I might actually buy a proper copy of the book (the proof copy just reuses some of the AoS art).

So...I still have no idea which cover we're getting.

Don't you usually get whatever we Americans do? Or does being part of the Queen's backyard help?
Edit: I.e. What've you guys gotten the previous three times?

Well for the Bartimaeus Trilogy we've gotten the US version, but for Harry Potter we've gotten the UK one. And both series, I believe, are the same publishing company.
Never mind, the publishing companies look similar.

O.o Trippy. Same publisher, same rules for cover, probably. I'll like the Phoenix (if it's that) one because It'll match the series over here, the I may just order the UK one because it's so awesome.

I would be happy to just get the book in my hands. I don't mind both the covers, but the UK one is better.
107 days more *sigh*.
And, made a deal with my sister. She is going to read the new Artemis Fowl book first and a new series released by Rick Riordan (the author of Percy Jackson; this time he is writing about Egyptian gods). I'm going to read IC book 4 first and RoS =D. The argument was over RoS. My sister wanted to read that first too, so I had to let her choose any of the other two books she wanted from that list. Thankfully, she agreed.

Rick Riordan is writing a new series???
*Googles frantically*
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.

That's not a fight, that's a compromise. A fight would be beating each other up with big heavy textbooks until one gives in. =p

=p. I've got a cousin who lets her younger brother read any book he wants to read first because he is the young one. And because she feels it is immature to argue over such stupid things (like, parents would always let their children read or use anything first; but isn't that why they are parents?). Plus, she feels that she has read many books before him because she is elder (which is a stupid reason. Obviously, she couldn't have waited for him to grow up and start reading before she let herself read a book).

Edit: @Epic footstool - It is The Kane Chronicles. The first book is the Red Pyramid. I bought it today. And, Artemis Fowl 7 hasn't released here yet.

My whole family used to fight over the new Harry Potter - when the last book came out we bought it at 4am in an airport because it was the same day we went on holiday, and THEN we had to each buy a different bookmark. I finished first. Ah, small victories...
Dansariki wrote:So there is an AF 7? Good god, I'm afraid... though I did like The Opal Deception.
The general rule for AF books is that if the book number is divisible by 2 to get an integer value, Opal is the baddy. And I should know, having translated the bottom line of every book BY HAND (geek). I love Opal.

Is this off-topic? :D
