Exactly!
I'm on your side on this one bud.

Seriously that's so cliche now...

Dansaraki: I have read books that are around 800-900 pages before (in fact the book I'm reading right now is around 900), but yes, I'm lazy, and it takes me a long time to read the book if I don't find the story interesting. -_-

I kinda have mixed feelings on the book (maybe hate and like it in some ways), only problem is that some parts (esp. in the last book) seems so exaggerated...

I KNOW it's cliche

Doesn't stop it from being overused ALL THE TIME!

And I agree with Dansariki and DC, Tolkienesque backgrounds are used waaaay too much (mind you I have a story going around in my head that involves something similar, but it's more of a parody than anything else).

Fantasy stories these days should talk more about death, souls, ghosts, and shinigami

Whoops, that's too anime-influenced right there.

And they should have more people with ESP powers too. :sun:

Shinigami FTW.

No matter what I say, my brother thinks both the third and fourth books will be released together. *sigh*

So your brother thinks that a book as big as a dictionary will be released this month? O.o

WHAT A WEIRDO. :spock:

:P

Then would he read a dictionary?
He did once... ;)

I keep trying to get him to read some of my favourite books, but I've only been successful with The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which probably only worked since his class was going to read it anyway (and didn't, stupid new teacher).

Suggestion: Force him to read Shakespeare.

I did read a dictionary as well though. (Well not really. Just looked for the few pictures that were in it.)
