Oh good. =P
Fuzzy, would Nat be the grumpy guy, and Bart the kid?
Probably. And Kitty is Kevin (the bird).

Obviously this book has a few continuity errors, like Bartimaeus is apparently an epic 14th level djinni, but I wonder who could have summoned him?
Continuity errors? You forget the number one rule here: whether it be to characters or as a narrator, Bart lies, especially if its a chance to big himself up further.
(Also, I'm new here so forgive me if I just missed on some sarcasm or in joke, but there are audiobooks available already, they are awesome.)

Aye, that's true. But Lovelace, Nathaniel, and Underwood all refer to Bart as 14th level in AoS. All books after he is also universally known as 4th level.
Also Stroud answered a question on this forum (CBAA to find it) where he admitted it was an error.
Also I don't think he boasts himself in that manner. Otherwise he'd boast that he was an afrit, or something.
AHMYGAWDDD!!!!!! So many new people popping up online and posting!!! Welcome! And yes, the 14 -> 4 thing was an error. I'm not sure why Stroud decided to change it. Maybe he figured that 14 levels was too many levels to keep track of. On another note, does anyone know what level Faquarl was?

Yeah, I love the Simon Jones audiobooks, I was just playing around. I was hanging out with a friend on the weekend who got me to read the first chapter. I've got a really kiddish voice so I do a decent Nathaniel, but then I try to drop the tone for Bart and broke into fits of giggles because it sounded so ridiculous. :D

I don't think it was ever stated. It was something ridiculously high.
I was going through Ptolemy's Gate and I never realized this, but Sheba and Ammet are mentioned...

Faquarl? I could have sworn he was either a little above or at Barti's level.
流口水的婊子和猴子的笨儿子。
Faquarl's physically a tad stronger than Bart, but they're basically pretty well matched, in cleverness as much as anything. As far as Bart's 4th/14th level status goes: yep, it was a continuity error, but I never worried too much about it, because it's all relative and depends on the perspective of who's talking. If you're a humble foliot, for instance, Bart is probably way more than 14 levels above you. In fact, there ARE probably more than 14 sub-levels of djinn below him, but I gravitated towards 4th ultimately because the magicians, who won't be able to assess all the subtle gradations in spirit power, probably only count something like 7 or 9 basic levels - which would make 4 somewhere comfortably in the middle.
Okay, here's my contribution to the Amulet reread. Thinking about it now, possibly the most important sentence in the trilogy comes on the second page where Bart's voice first truly breaks through. 'Hey, it was his first time. I wanted to scare him.' The moment I wrote that, a whole world of possibilities opened up.
Second most important sentence? Maybe that little line in chapter 4, when Bart becomes 'a boy I had known once before, someone I had loved'. I didn't know what that meant when I wrote it, but the implications bubbled away for 2 whole books before they came to full fruition in Ptolemy's Gate.
Wow. It is really nice knowing which sentences gave you the ideas for the series. :)
As we go on with the reread could you please fill us with more anecdotes? Even which parts you particularly enjoyed writing and the jokes you are most proud of?

Yeah, and there's Ptolemy's Gate, too.
