I've been to cinemas in the UK, the US, and Switzerland, and none of them have been lacking proper speakers at the back.
Incidently, what's a non-proper speaker? o_O

But how do you make a speaker which can do ambience without being able do do speech? How do you prevent it from producing speech, and why would you want to?

The speakers can produce speech, but there's the loudness factor....

I'd be surprised if they couldn't go loud enough to be understood. Most films have some effects coming from behind the audience.
Wouldn't neccesarilyhave to come from behind the audience, either...

Yea. Why would it have to? :hmm: Duh! Id go with the echoey(sp?) thing.
I loved the Bartimaeus books but, like all trilogies, it was way too short.

And the echoey thing ( ;) ) would be annoying. And how wold the first rows hear anything? It won't be too clear.

Haha...imagine how awesome it'd be if they could replicate how Bartimaeus sees the world. Anyway, how would the echoing actually work on a normal television when it gets out of theater?

Who would play Ptomoly? because thats barty's favourite form, the person who plays that character would have to do the voice of barty for the rest of the film, otherwise it would just sound weird

Special effect extravaganza thrown in with reasonably good acting
OR
One of those low budget thingies.

Either way, it won't have foornotes.

It's been far too successful for a company to risk wasting the vast amount they'd have paid for the license on a low-budget job.

A film would be great, i hope they cast mostly english actors....if they do any american ones they would have to be able to do a good accent. none of that 'i have too many plums in my mouth' thing
