Oh, you mean Paolini.

Ssssh! *Whispers* Don't talk about Microsoft in negative tones! Bill Gates has bots everywhere, all over the internet!!! If he sees that you like Microsoft, he sends you a bunch of cash. If not, he has you "taken care of".

Yeah, I know, I suck at conspiracy theories.

No. They should release it in the UK first, because most likely there will be a lot more people who have read the books than in the US.

They can build up hype there, and then when they release it here, more people will have heard of it.

http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101021 ... tasy2.html

"[...]Miramax will shortly begin work on a movie version of the best-selling Artemis Fowl books, a hot contender for the postHarry Potter sweepstakes, and the company paid seven figures for book and film rights to the Bartimaeus trilogy[...]"

Hey welcome to BF, and that's pretty cool, I haven't heard any mention of the movie.
Thank you for the welcome.
And it is not the unique thing that I have found on the movie and miramax, there I leave the link and the part in the text that appears:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/new ... main_x.htm

"[...]Though not known for family fare, Miramax is seeking "more kids' stuff with a similarly distinctive edge," says creative affairs vice president Jennifer Wachtell. The company also plans to turn Jonathan Stroud's Bartimaeus Trilogy, about a boy magician and a genie, into a film series.[...]"

and this(That seems to me more important ):

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111789 ... us+trilogy

"[...]The Pearson adaptation is being scripted by Kevin Wade ("Working Girl"), while Hossein Amini, who previously collaborated with Miramax as screenwriter on "Wings of the Dove," is adapting "Samarkand." "Bartimaeus Trilogy" is published by Miramax Books.[... ]"

P.D:sorry for if there are failures in the grammar, my English is not good ^^U

Really? Crap I have to finish the AF books then. Also, I don't believe it. It's too good to be true, but I will believe it when I see it. Also, I don't think technology is able to replicate most of what is in books and video games today, especially Bartimaeus. AF probably, but Bartimaeus I'm not sure.

I believe that if they are capable of creating to bartimaeus, and not only I believe(create) it if not that I wish to be true. You prop this rumor this one very extended over Internet, even and listened the date 2009 often. But I cannot deny that it is anything difficult. But i whis was true...V.V

Personally I would rather them not make a movie... :hmm: I find that unless the movies are done well (like Lord of the Rings) then they just mess up my view of the characters. And plus, it would be pretty hard to find an actor that could fill Bartimaeus' part. He IS amazing after all (mostly self-proclaimed amazing-ness though). :P

Yeah I don't like it when people make movies of books I really like. They generally ruin them. (*cough* Harry Potter *cough*) I don't think they'd get the characters right at all and would probably mess up the plot.
There is a sort of busy worm,
That will the fairest book deform,
Their tasteless tooth will tear and taint
The poet, patiot,sage or saint,
Nor sparing wit nor learning.
Now, if you'd know the reason why,
The best of reasons I'll supply;
'Tis bread to this poor vermin.

The fifth one looks good though.

I'm scared of the idea of an Amulet of Samarkand now too. I mean, after I saw what the Eragon movie did to Paolini... how long was he in counciling?

That's true. Actually the third one was actually quite good. The first, second and fourth ones were horrible though... Plus now I keep on thinking of Daniel Radcliffe when ever I'm reading the books.
