There would be a lot of flash backs then.
And, has anyone read AND watched The Da Vinci Code?
They were completely different...
If somehting like this happens to the Bart movie I prefer not to have one...
It's obviously going to be different. It's an entirely different type of media. I just hope it's a little like my mental images.
I still think the book is always better, sometimes really better.
Anyway, I keep imagining how they would the Other Place be if they did a movie...
The only movies that I think were better than the books were Lotr and Ella Enchanted. All tho Lotr's really close.
I agree about LoTR
Never saw Ella Enchanted...
I'd say Ptolemy's Gate is better then the other two because it goes into Bartimaeus' past as well as his present. It goes into deep description of the Other Place, and it shows why Bartimaeus uses Ptolemy as his preferred form. Ptolemy's Gates wins.

NARUTO FOREVER!
Ella Enchanted?
The only thing about the movie I liked was the singing.
And Lotr totally ruined Theoden and Faramir's characters!
"You belong in Gryffindor,
where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."

Particularly Faramir. That was pretty much the only part of the movie I didn't like. Well, that and the whole killing off Saruman early and making the return to Hobbiton all happy bit.

A still more glorious dawn awaits, not a sunrise, but a galaxy rise, a morning filled with 400 billion suns - the rising of the Milky Way
Yes, I agree.
Though in the EE of the Two Towers, I cried my eyes out.
I'm a sap, what do you expect?
"You belong in Gryffindor,
where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."
No Bombadil, Scouring of the Shire, Denethor's a mad freak, Faramir is tempted, etc., etc., etc.,
But Gimli was AWESOME!!! And the music.
I wish I were a cat-dragon
I don't think Bombadil would have translated particularly well to film and Denethor
is a mad freak. Otherwise I agree with you.

Denethor was a mad freak.
But otherwise, yeah.
Though I think I agree that Bomadil wouldn't do film well. One of the only girls was in that part...
"You belong in Gryffindor,
where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."
Oh, for no reason, here's a hilarious
Flash Animation.

Peter Jackson hated the part in the book when Frodo and Hobbits had to fight for the Shire.

It's one of the most important bits of the story in my opinion.

He thought it was anti-climatic.
But I was kind of mad when I found out he never even considered making it. Then I realized it was a movie..

I liked that part as well, That's where Merry and Pippin would have become more than comic relief.
Well, Pippin kills a troll at the Black Gates, and Merry help kills the ringwraith.
I wish I were a cat-dragon
But that's still not up to the complete change in the Scouring of the Shire, where Frodo and Sam take the back seat and Merry and Pippin are the sensible lead characters ordering the resistance.

Well, I didn't like it. Merry and Pippin were more than comic relief and well, the shire's supposed to be peaceful. Plus, Sauro died already. And the only thing that came from that part of the book was him dying, or Wormtail backstabbing, and Sauro died already, so...
