Obama is now President of the US. Wooo!
Yes, I watched the inauguration live. He fluffed his lines on the oath. (So did the supreme justice or whoever he was swearing it to.) It was most amusing.

It was definitely a good watch, especially with us two making snide remarks :D

The second time wasn't him - the bloke he was swearing the oath to screwed up, he spotted it, and looked blank until the bloke repeated it and got it right.

Heh, we stopped classes to watch the inauguration.
It was night here then, so I got to see Obama & Michelle leave for the private church service, return back (& get greeted by George & Laura) & I watced till the Bushes left in the helicopter.
Mu-Barack Obama!
('Mubarak' in Hindi means well wishes, congratulations. But Barack & Barack are pronounced the same way, so it works). I just hope he delivers what he has promised.

Same.
"SaSHAAA."

Snide remarks, guys? :hmm:

Sasha is Obama's daughter, right?
I didn't get the link, Apollo.

Those who watched the inauguration should know what I am referring to.

On the topic of politics, I saw a (what I thought was) ridiculous commercial. It was advertising (in AUSTRALIA) Obama's inauguration. They wanted people to stay up untill 3am to watch the American President. No offense intended towards Americans or America, but I just thought that not many people in Australia would want to watch it.
When I set out from the boy's attic window, my head was so full of competing plans and complex strategems that I didn't look where I was going and flew straight into a chimney.

Something symbolic in that. It's what fake freedom does for you.

I watched it. I also stayed up on results day.

That's great. But I doubt many Australians would have.

I watched it completely. Still no idea what you are talking about.
For me, the election results & the inaugration were in the morning & night (around 10) respectively. So, I got to see both well.

I don't see why people do, there's no real point. I just wait 'till morning.

Some classes had the inauguration on, but we were doing our math summative. Considering how I did, I wouldn't have been much worse off if I'd watched the inauguration instead. Also got to spend most of the day hanging out with someone who really hates Obama. :D

You didn't hear the preacher dude from somewhere out west (Colorado/Nebraska or something) pronounce Sasha Obama's name with odd emphasis? "Sasssshaaaa..."

Watch history in the making! Just reading the result afterwards is far less exciting than the tension of results steadily coming in.

Oh no, Sent's been taken over by CNN commentary. Surely you didn't actually think McCain had a good chance of winning the last week in? =P

The fact that Obama won over McCain isn't the historic part, the fact that Obama won is (if that mnakes any sense :P)
