well, if he hadnt, the us and uk would be richer, thousands of people would still be alive and we still would not know what iraq was...well, some people wouldnt.

Well, it was the Iraqi that bombed us, they blew up a bunch of people... you can't expect our president to not do anything. People would have hated Bush if he just sat back and let them bomb us... and now that he does something about it people hate him anyway... Yes a lot of our money is going towards the war, but where would it go any other time.. to inconsequential places, like welfare bums and that.

i know what you mean, but when i know people who have family members fighting over there it is hard to say that Bush and Blair are doing good jobs.

*has missed world event* when did the iraq people bomb the US? i wasnt aware of anyone bombing the US. must have been on holiday or something...

well, they didn't actually bomb us, they flew planes in to the world trade centers in 2001

I don't know if their nationality was Iraqi, but it wasn't them.

They did attack Israel though, and other in the first gulf war.

well that was ages ago. well...ages for me. anyway, i dont see why they had to get involved, iraq was happily minding its own business when bush and his lapdog blair went and stuck their noses in costing their countries lots of money and many lives

As far as they knew, or were supposed to know, was that Iraq has WMD, so, action had to be taken.

Saddam wasn't exactly running a nice country though, with executions and torture...

well they should have left when they found out they had made a mistake, not stayed there. its like arresting someone because a person said they saw that someone murder their uncle. you then find out that the uncle was never murdered but had was still alive and kicking but for some decide to execute them anyway.

So you would have preferred the coalition to have left the country in turmoil with a tyrannical leader who, for no reason, would kill his own people.

When Iraq was liberated from Saddam most Iraqis were very happy, they aren't so happy now because no longer is it their government they fear but their own citizens which are probably being supplied with arms from Iran and Syria.

yes. he wasnt bothering anyone else and, more importantly, the iraqis are now even worse off.

Right now, they are, but in the future, it will hopefully be better.

Granted, things have turned out bad, but hindsight is a very powerful thing. Though it is probable that there was alot of bad planning for this situation.

there is no way the uk and us are going to pay for iraq to get back on its feet. not like that is possible with the police and people being so unhelpful. what will happen is another government will get elected, due to pressure from the voting public they will pull out of iraq and leave it a broken country with no authoritative figure there to sort them out. well, they will leave before iraq is anywhere near better.
