Actually my primary reason for supporting J/J is that it is more plausible than NK. o.o I'm a realist, and NK seems like a fairytale couple to me. Jane is,in terms of her standing in the world, a female version of Nat. They understand each other. In our world there're plenty of doctor, lawyer couples. In other words people of a similar social standing just work better as a couple. You know what I voted for. :mwamba:

J/J is WAY less plausible than NK! You could see at the end of PG the beginnings of NK, and it would have continued if Nat hadn't died. Whether they have the same social standing or not, Jane and John do NOT understand each other, as I've already said. I don't understand this pairing sometimes because, to me, it's obvious that there was no further attraction between them as of the middle of PG.
Besides, she was only toying with him anyways.

NK started much too late considering the amount of interaction time between those characters. (First point of contact? Amulet) Makes me feel that Nk would be too forced. I think the attraction is more of a one sided one and possibly even based on looks, which is really ironic. I get this mostly from the 'beautiful' remark. At the end of PG Kitty's only role appears to be being the voice of reason and to stop N and B's bickering. I didn't really get the feeling that Kitty was interested in N at all. Contrast this with all those sensual overtones in the JJ moments. This kind of thing jumps out at the reader more -> makes it seem more plausible. That's how I see it. Yup.

Sensual overtones or not, JJ was shown to be OVER. Nat showed no further attraction to Jane...and it could just as easily have been based on looks as well! Nat calls her 'beautiful' as well, but makes no remarks that compliment her character or personality. In addition, he mentions that he was 'eager to continue' the discussion with Kitty; Nat enjoyed talking with her, whereas Jane was really a rival, NOT a friend in any way; she turned on him in an instant! Before he foudn out Kitty was alive, Nat was depressed throughout most of PG because he was friendless and tired of politics. I don't think he would look much for a partner in that world, least of all someone who wouldn't stick by him.
Kitty showed that she would stay with him to the end, and is more than a voice of reason between Nat and Bart. She may be better at masking her feelings, but she obviously cared about both Nat and Bart enough to be worried about them when Nat got hurt. And the 'beautiful' remark was just sort of a realization on his part; he was definitely attracted to her BEFORE then.

Attracted to her Before? As the guy who threatened her with torture? o.o JJ wasn't 'over'. They had a professional disagreement. I love how that can happen in a pairing. I loved how Stroud described one instance when they grinned at each other (this was after the ball or something). They seemed so young, and cute and *wubbs* Ahem...Nat wasn't stressed throughout PG, I've always thought GE was more harrowing for him. When he did think of Kitty it felt like guilt to me.

Mm, anyway: Nat Kitty is far too much fairy tale type. It's well, very Simple in essence. JJ is by Far more realistic, more subtler.

Nathaniel WAS depressed in PG...read the garden party scene, for instance. He hides it well, but it's there. Whether or not it was a professional disagreement, afterwards it says that the mere thought of the lovely Ms. Farrar filled him with...disgust, wasn't it? Don't remember the direct quote. Anyway, when I said he was attracted to Kitty BEFORE I meant that he admired her...it says that throughout PG. Her feelings towards him didn't change till much later, but even when he thought she was dead she was a sort of symbol, something that meant a lot to him. To have her come back in person changed everything. :wub:

After Kitty, the whole demon invasion and save-the-world-thing? Nat's death was wonderful.

Still, that doesn't mean we should party about it...ah, well. Anybody keeping track of the NK and JJ scores here? It's sort of turning into an all-out war...

John didn't even say that NK was canon. He said that "he'd leave it to [us] to decide"

So technically, there's hope for JJ yet *yay*

In canon, romance for Farrar was slightly one sided. Same for Kitty.
