I dunno...like I may have mentioned before, I really think Nathaniel DID have a crush on Jane Farrar, but that all changed when Nathaniel dismissed Bart rather than interrogate him. He saw her true nature, and saw her has someone very unlike him. She, in turn, was contemptuous of him...not a good mix.
NatKitty, on the other hand, is just...magical. Plus it works for the end of PG!
