I'm not even going to dignify this with a response.

On topic: when's the new book due?

Heroes of the Valley? Either Late 2008 or January 2009.
What's this about Heroes of the Valley? JS is writing another book?

He's written a new book. It's released this January. Check the Heroes of the Valley forum for some more information and the prologue...

A still more glorious dawn awaits, not a sunrise, but a galaxy rise, a morning filled with 400 billion suns - the rising of the Milky Way
Oh thanks, I will.
Edit- Seen it. I really liked it, but sort of cliched to have a land-where-monsters-live sort of thing. The protagonist's description was unique though. I think it will be a good book. It's good to see all the funny elements which I so much adored in the BT books.

I think the idea is that it is a pretty clichéd where-the-monsters-are setting, and then you throw in the protagonist and break the cliché.

That's going to remain a pie in the sky, I'm afraid.
Anyone, buying the new book?

No.
It'll be a library read, unfortunately.

One of the best things about the Bartimaeus Trilogy was that it was set in the real, familiar world with magical happenings (another example: Harry Potter). This new book is in a fantasy land? I'll read it (sure, it's Jonathan Stroud), but a library read for me too.

Yeah, JS did his homework for Barti, very nice.
I like he managed to meld his and the real world so well, without any glaring inconsistancies.
Spelling, I know.
When do you think it'll make it to the general library population?

I like Rowling, for the most part.
Paolini's getting better, don't squash potential, that's Sent's job.

Who?
Well I haven't read Brisingr (sp) so I wouldn't know. But from the previous 2 it's all cliches and horrible prose. Horrible in the sense of redundancy.

It's alright, nothing award-winning.
Even though it has won awards.
Somehow.

And oh.
Well, still haven't read twilight, keep meaning to.

I wonder, what is the general opinion on the Artemis Fowl books? I noticed a new one was out yesterday in the book store, and I am curious about how it's regarded by you people.
