Gandalf's coming back to life?

Exactly. Not a resurrection, which cheapens sacrifices, but a survival.

No, Aslan and Gandalf WERE techinically dead for a while. Sherlock Holmes was a survival.

I know the night is not as it would seem,
I must believe in something,
So I'll make myself believe it,
That this night will never go.

You sound like my brother. Did you ever see "Ghost Ship"? In the beginning where they all get chopped in half by the cable, he laughed there!

It's not funny when people die.

It's sad.

Though if I died, I don't think I'd really mind.

True, if he survived then it'd be intresting....but I don't see a way to do it, unless just his spirit survived.

I suspect you'd be a bit too dead to care, or even notice.

When it's in a movie, it's fine because it's not real.

I think we can tell that the injury was mortal from his mental conversation with Bartimaeus.

"You idiot Nathaniel. Let me take over.
There isn't any point.
What do you-?
Is there? I read your mind. Just now.
Oh...that. Look, I'm no medic. Forget it. I could be wrong."

He wasn't tired from running around fighting demons all night because he still had Barti inside him. Nothing peps anyone up like an smartass spirit made of fire and air bonded to you mind to mind! He was dying from blood loss, which is why he was getting sleepy.
"He was having trouble keeping awake now- the energy was draining unhindered from his side"

But no, we don't know what exactly was damaged. Internal organs falling out? Ribcage sundered? Just a big gash? No idea.

Anyway, if you are interested, I wrote an AU ending where the injury is no longer mortal due to Bartimaeus' clever intervention. The link is in the fan-fic section. Please let me know what you think!

Gandalf, Nat, what's the difference, really? A beard here, a rod there. They're both wizards, eh?

I suppose so, Sent.

Well, Nat's a human and a magician for one thing.

And Gandalf is a wizard and not quite mortal for another...

I'm fairly sure nathaniels entire side was blown to parts and his guts might have been seeping out....Fat

I guess I should have specified.. I was talking about Nathaniel.
AIONIOS
Gandalf isn't human. Nat should stay dead, and I'm a fangirl. I just think a return would be too contrived. I also have a thing for sad endings. o.o
Nothing to see here, move along.

Who said Gandalf was human?

I never was a fan of him dying, but now he might as well stay that way.

He's in a better place.

I actually agree with you Ianna...Especially with the guy that's playing him in the movies. I can't stand him...He's a bit to pissy for my taste.

He's in a better place? What you talking about, he's dead. His mind processes no more thoughts and emotions. If that's better, I don't want to know what's worse.
