I'm 99.99% sure Nathaniel is deceased. The .01% percent is that somehow the magical energies counterbalanced eachother and saved him, but that is unlikely. As for his injury, it was a very large gash. Stroud mentions it. I doubt it was fatal, just very, very serious. I always had a vision of a long, jagged gash in his side bleeding slightly.

And that .01% would be a miracle...and a dream come true for Kitty?

0.1% = Nathaniel developing telekinetic abilities and teleporting himself to a safer place.

Well tbh I think that Nathaniel wasn't going to survive the blow to his body. It was a an attack that blasted through Bart's shield and into the body. It must of done alot of damage and the fact that Kitty was surprised that he could stand and that he was almost fainting, he was going to die no matter what.
I thinbk thats one reason why he let Bartimaeus go, he knew he wasn't going to survive so he thought why bring everyone down with me.

Although I hope he got out safely and survived. (If he would have survived he would have gone straight to the government to tell them, so it's not likely he survived)

He may be survived if he use the 7 league boots at the right time

I was thinking that. I thought he could get away with them but I think he was going to die soon after anyway. Cos of his side injury, gutted he died :(
