I know you can hack it to get some sort of functionality, but why should I have to? Other players work just fine on Linux with no screwing around required.

I don't think 64GB flash players are too far off; there are a lot of 32GB ones around now and memory prices are dropping with the upsurge of SSDs.

My 120 GB was a gift, isn't that big (we take these things for granted anyway) or heavy, and is reliable for my purposes. I'll stick with it until Apple comes out with a bigger iPod Touch. Assuming I have the money.

It's too big and heavy for what's going to be a second item of electronics being carried around in people's pockets (after their phones). As I said, well over twice the weight of a high-end flash player and noticeably bigger.

On a related note, I recently found out that my MP3 player, although I can get it to run for longer now, only has room for about 258 songs. WTF. Ah well, I guess I'll just create two separate lists and alternate them.

I like pretty much everything, 'cept most Screamo and Rap, with empasis on Classic Rock, Country and Stuff from Musicals. I'm more inclined to like specific songs than particular artists or genres anyway.

It occurs to me I appear to have forgotten to mention Muse, who are awesome.

Hmm, seems I never mentioned Simon and Garfunkel. How blasphemous. :ermm:

Blah. I don't wanna buy the albums of some of the bands, the library doesn't have them, and downloading them is temporarily out...

Ideas anyone?

If it's new music you want without having to pay/get in legal trouble, why not scry Jamendo or something?

Last.fm is a good place to try, too.

*resurrects*
So the new Muse album arrived today. It's more complex than their previous work, and I think it needs more listens before I can say with any confidence how much I like it, but it's definitely growing on me after three or four listens.

Sentynel resurrecting a topic?

A lot of my favourite albums I had to listen to at least twice to appreciate.
I have The Resistance, but have had no time to listen to it. I heard one song, which I liked. But I'm at school now and cut of.

I've liked all of Muse so far, and I've heard it all at least once (Absolution and OoS the most), I've yet to grab their new one.

And, Sent's liable to do so when it's actually a good topic.

I don't think Muse have a clear best album, at least so far. The Resistance is as good as their other work, not better. Different, though, which is nice. I hate seeing bands stagnate.

Oooh, can you recommend me some? Only one of my parents friends really likes Bollywood songs and I'm really tired of hearing the same few songs over and over. (actually he does that with other genres too, it's really annoying)
