So far, so very good.
Though some of the violence is a little unexpected.
you're studying princess mononoke in animation class?

wow, i hope when i do animation at uni next year we get to do stuff like that!
Yes, but we're not quite that good. =p
I went to neither a academic nor an athletic school, mine was a big tech/whatever (we're one of the biggest in the city) school (woodworking, welding, automotive, etc.).

The one I'm at now is one of the fancy downtown ones, and famous for it's art program. Which, as of today is officially better than yours, Nero. I'll show you all why when I go and take a picture of it tomorrow. :P

Recorded Sherlock, just haven't gotten around to watching it yet though. My art history teacher is actually pimping it out to people 'cuz of the England trip next year.

Saw Avatar today. It was good. =D The plot (I usually have an issue with this) wasn't bad either. Possibly I expected worse.
I'm glad my VCD player got alright. The special effects seen on TV were really good. I'm sure it would have sucked in my laptop (where, BTW, my audio stopped working again...).

Heh. I watched this as well in animation. Dunno why. But I don't really care.
...it still has animation, regardless of whether it's computer-generated or not...

Yes, but I mean we aren't exactly analyzing it or anything. More like a TGIF movie.
Saw Piranha on the theatre today in 3D.
I was closing my eyes half the time.

It was the weirdest movie I have ever seen. Made little sense.
I highly doubt it makes as little sense as this movie i watched for a project at college. it was something about little red riding hood fom the 1980's. the effects were good for back then (except for the fact they got worse rather than better throughout the film) but the film made no sense what-so-ever. i think it was called a pack of wolves or something like that.
Saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. It was better than the 6th one. In fact, I would give it 3 stars out of 5. (Inception is a full 5. <3) The special effects were good and the first half was funny. The end of the second half wasn't bad either. Worth a one time watch.

Also, I had said that (long ago) the first half should end with Voldemort getting the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's grave. That is exactly how it had ended!
I actually wanted to see The Social Network, but just one week after it released here, it has almost gone from the theatres. I didn't expect that to happen. It isn't being run anywhere near my place anymore (except at 11:10 pm in one theatre). I'll try a way to see it.

I'm going to see HP tomorrow; it's nice to hear some good things about the movie for once.

I watched Law Abiding Citizen last night. Such an awesome movie. It had an intriguing plot and was executed superbly as well. Plus, Gerard Butler was awesome. <3
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.
Nice :D .
I'm going to watch HP as soon as my exams are over. But I'm glad to hear it's not as *bad* as I expected.

Whoa, if our notoriously hard to please Potter fans :P like it then it's probably awesome.

We're trying to get our Film teacher to watch Inception and Scott Pilgrim. Be great if we could watch them in class, I may actually enjoy the essay writing then.

I WOULD LOVE TO WRITE AN ESSAY ON SCOTT PILGRIM.

Scratch that, I would like to write over 9000 essays on Scott Pilgrim.

Scratch that, but you get my point.

Also, going to Potterize tonight
I wish I were a cat-dragon

Going noon tomorrow with family and people-who-are-practically-family.

No, it is not awesome. Just better than I expected and actually better than the previous 3 installments. Don't go with too high hopes.

I meant that I'll probably think it's awesome.

I haven't actually read the book since it came out.

Saw Deathly Hallows this morning, and it was actually pretty good. I didn't find myself getting bored at some point in between, which was a problem with the previous three films, and the first half was pretty funny. I generally liked the way they'd portrayed the events in the book, but

I was kind of disappointed with the scene with the doe-patronus at the lake. It didn't really get across how hard it was for Ron to break away from what the Horcrux was telling him about Harry and Hermione. In the book it was a case of Ron charging straight towards Harry, as if he were taken in by the Horcrux, then stopping short and breaking the locket instead. In the movie, it was more like the Horcrux had encouraged Ron to charge, and he'd almost accidentally hit Harry in his haste to destroy it. I know it's a minor point, but it did really bug me.

I don't know about that, but I like how the Horcrux spewed out some ginormous black cloud of evilness, it was more impressive than the book and seemed more like something Voldemort would do - old drama queen that he is.
I thought it was great. Not actually awesome level as I'd thought, because I'd forgotten that this is the part where not a lot happens. :P Still, they managed to cut out significant amounts of camping, while leaving the rest to be pretty nature shots (still would rather be out camping than reading/watching it though). They did a good job of tying things all together and making it seem more like a complete movie - but it still felt kind of empty. And this means that I am now super-psyched for Part 2 which drops in... *googles* JULY!? I can't wait that long!! Gah.

Now it means I want the time to go by fast, but school is just so much fun this year that I don't want it to. Maybe I should just read the book again. :P

My school had a dress up as a harry potter character day because of that movie coming out. Some guy came to school dressed up as Quirrel, wearing an unholy giant purple turban. I'm not even kidding you, the dude was in two of my classes. I just contented myself with a homemade dark mark (if you get the joke, I will love you forever.) I'm going to see the movie next week - looking forward to it. :)
This is my signature. Why yes, I am quite proud of it, thank you very much. I raised the fellow meself.

You, Fuzzy and me seem to have the same feelings about the movie. :P

The point about Ron breaking the Horcrux didn't bother me much, but I hope Harry and Hermione didn't have that stupid dance. It is so against Harry's character. And them abandoning each other and running to save their own skins when the Snatchers arrived after the trio's visit to Lovegood's place.
