Mainly because the film's called The Sixth Sense, and no one can see the guy apart from the boy who can "see dead people".

As far as we know, his wife and he and in a fight. And usually people don't look at other people while walking, waiting, etc.

So where do you see it being obvious that he's being ignored because he doesn't exist?

The only possible place that you could have gotten the hint that he was dead was when the boy said he saw dead people, and the camera slightly turned to the guy. (Bruce Willis).

Pretty much ALL the critics, from America, the UK alike was shocked. And though yes some are idiots, there is a reason some of them are well respected. So if many critics with way more wits than me and you, how did you figure it out first?

I don't see why you're so suprised he realized it. Sometimes people catch things that other people don't, even if they are hidden well.
