Absolutely not...they wouldn't even think about that. Everyone uses CG, although the budget would have to be bigger for good graphics. They'll probably get unknowns to save money.

But it is fantasy and fantasy is generally for kids. The movie will probably be rated PG

But in the first book, the main character is 12 and he's a magician. People are going to associate it with HP.

People already do. This one guy I talked to did this random parellel with Harry Potter. (And he didn't read either of the books.)

Amulet will be PG, and if it's PG, the directors will try to make all the movies PG.
