If you had a time machine

And how would you stop yourself, if you saw yourself you might think you are going crazy :P
Maybe I would go back to the Ice Age, to see what Earth looked like when it was one giant icicle.

If you went back to the past, and your younger self saw an older version of yourself...would you still call yourself crazy? O.o

Well if my younger self saw my older self in a bad condition, that would be a news flash and I would correct all my wrongs. If I saw myself in a good position, then I would still work as hard to make sure my future is that and possibly go better.
And I'm already crazy, so it's no use.
Edit: This topics really got you rilled Nat. Waited for this excitement for a while eh?
But seriously, one topic hasn't gotten over 20 replies without it being spam for a while (the new Shipper Baiter topic was spam.)

Of course, there's the theory that states that backwards time travel is possible it's impossible to actually change anything by doing it - that anything you change is exactly the change required to make things turn out as they do. But that violates quantum mechanics because it suggests the universe is deterministic.
Overall, time travel is a headache, theoretically and philosophically.

True, but that still doesn't change the fact I'm curious what you would all do...

Have you heard Year 3000 by Busted? They sing about it:

(One day, when i came, home at lunchtime,
I heard a funny noise
Went out, to the back yard, to find out,
If it was one of those rowdy boys.
Stood there, was my neighbour, called Peter,
And a Flux Capacitor.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nITRa-VD8Ow

Do Flux things exist?
Edit: I mean...in movies.

Actually, didn't someone actually build a machine that sends particles through time to itself? It's still recieving atoms. Saw it on the Discovery channel... :pirate1:

Really?
And as for the flux, it does, just not the way in movies...

Meh. Looked it up. It was a teleportation thingie, not a time travel thingie

Yeah, they can teleport individual photons or something along those lines. Clever, but a long way off teleporting objects.

We don't control the advertisements in any way, Post. They're whatever we get served with. Nothing we can do. Just ignore them (or get NoScript for Firefox and block javascript from the ad servers...).

Oh, and don't double post..

something weird about time travel is that if you go forward or backwards in time to a time where youre still alive there will be 2 of you in that time.

With you guys it always has to be technical. *SIGH*
You are all time travellers, just just travel at the same rate. I have the privilage of speeding up time. After you get to the end of the zone's most time, you then loop round to ther beggining of that time stream or another one. I can also appear to certain points in time streams without travelling. It is confusing, but my 317 dimensional status usually means I can clear up the messy bits, such as being in several places at once. I can also jump time streams allthough things can become tricky if you get stuck inbetween. Douglas Adams and Jasper Fforde have rather good measures of time, although they haven't got it quite right, and things tend to change over 314 dimensions difference!

AS I have seen your future. I wouldn't worry about global warming
Oh and HogwartzHokage, you are in an ice age already, so I wouldn't worry

Infact, a lot of people on this forums are at different points in time...
Run, run as fast as you can...

Interesting theory...
I don't like time machine theory, but if I could I would go be first in line for the first Star wars film.
