Most of the dialogues are the same as they are in the book. Though obviously, heavily edited. And Bart's footnotes seem to be included too. And they used a very simple and effective way to differentiate them. And I got one more page- I couldn't open that in the morning. Now I can - http://www.dbgcatalog.com/DI/other/9781 ... read_1.pdf
That is how Ptolemy looks =D.
I can't seem to be able to see it...

You made it to 100%? You can make out all the words then (still slightly difficult 'cause it starts blurring too. >100% is too blurry). Yeah, the first one is better.

I don't know about y'all, but I rather like it. It sticks to the story and the characters are colourful and they don't have the too medieval or too modern graphic looks. I think the new readers may like it.

Settings are a little brightly coloured for my tastes, but it still looks really good.

I don't like Bartimaeus's gargoyle guise picture at all. It reminds me of those ants in the movie Antz. Specifically that guy Barbado, the one that got killed by termites. Or something like that. I imagined him to look like the skinny gargoyle from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. I guess I like to cutesify things. =P

And also, Ptolemy was way whiter than I expected. Everyone refers to him as that "good looking, dark skinned one", but Chap 1 of PG said he had a "pale lamb's throat", so I don't know....

O_o. I get magnifications ranging from 1% to 1600%.
Okay, I got it from this site - http://www.dbgcatalog.com/Disney/1670_1 ... 303731.htm. You see "See a Spread" under the book cover? Click that for the first link I put up. This one has just 1X magnification. But it is very clear. And this - http://www.dbgcatalog.com/Disney/1670_1 ... 303731.htm. Click "Additional Spreads". Here, you get the wide range of magnifications. Not very clear, but you can still read all the words.

I looked at the graphic novel at a bookstore (I was gonna get it, but my mom's not a fan of graphic novels.)
The art was pretty good, the characters were pretty close to what I thought they looked like, and it was pretty cool.
I think a couple of people in the forum have already bought it. Sent and Footstool, I think.
How was it? Much parts cut from the book?

I thought the graphic novel was excellent. Not much was cut from the book at all; there couldn't have been more than a few mildly amusing conversations missed - everything important and memorable was very much in there. Not much needs to be said for the artwork - like Gabalot, I thought the characters looked really similar to how I'd imagined them. The close attention to detail throughout just made it that little bit more awesome. :D
Bartimaeus: It won't be the only mad thing about if you let this lot go. Check out that one at the end. He's taken the form of a footstool. Weird...but somehow I like his style.
Nathaniel: That is a footstool. No one's using that Pentacle.

What Footstool said. It was great.

I thought it was okay, but as a wearer of glasses, nothing bothers me more than the lenses the magicians were drawn with in this comic. I mean, look at this nonsense:
Those lenses are so teeny tiny! It makes the whole point of wearing them in the first place moot, because they are too damn small to really see anything effectively.

I know its not that big of an issue and more of a pet peeve, but it's my pet peeve.

I'm sure they could fit more powerful spirits into the lenses if they made them just a wee bit larger.
