J.K. Rowling: Yes. She might even have grown to love him romantically (she certainly loved him as a friend) if he had not loved Dark Magic so much, and been drawn to such loathesome people and acts.
She probably only had regrets that she lost a friend

Yes.

I remember some of my friends that really weren't friends after a while, so had to get rid of them. But I sometimes feel we could have worked it out.

I can't really blame Lily. I mean, who would want a guy who fears shampoo?

Severus Snape isn't afraid of anything.
...except shampoo :D

Because she truly cared about him.

If I were her, I would've truly cared from a distance. he must've smelled.

But I agree. it was really sad. poor snape.

I refuse to respond to your antagonizing lies.

I think he took baths.

He just, as Luciene (I think) said, had hair problems.

Or maybe, he didn't get enough primping time, 'cos he had to share a washroom with Lucius.

Well, that was only for a few years...

It wasn't his habit, because he had a really bad atmosphere at home. And then, he was too torn up over Lily to worry about stupid hair issues.
Look, Queezle.
maybe it's just me. I personally find greasy hair intensly disgusting.

If he couldn't keep it clean, he could've at least kept it short.

what if there were some twist at the end where we found out Harry was actually Snape's son or something?? ;)

Then I'd wonder why the heck he looked like James.

Yeah....

I'm not sure if that's possible.

And there are worse things than greasy hair.
Look, Queezle.

Oh, and then I'd become a professional assassin and shoot JKR in her sleep for such a lame plot twist.

Well, I'd actually burn my book...

I might become mentally scarred for life. I mean, even more than currently.
Look, Queezle.

That would defeat all of Book 3.

And the Mirror of Erised.

And the end of book 4.

Their daring, nerve and chivalry
set Gryffindors apart."

And it would scar harry for life. We could be scarred together.
Look, Queezle.
I still can't believe she called the Mirror of Erised that. Talk about lame, it's just desire backwards. Not even anagrammed.
